The mkDive Cornea is a video light for technical divers. It started where the Fovea SPOT stops: you want to film what you see in the cave or on the wreck, without a second battery system, a second charger and a second set of O-rings to worry about.
The Cornea runs on the same 4×18650 battery pack as the Fovea SPOT. If you already dive a Fovea, you swap the pack and go. One spare pack covers both lights. Designed and made in Germany.
The main light is a Bridgelux® V18C COB at 5000 K and CRI 90. Reds and yellows stay where they belong instead of turning grey-green. Four white levels from about 1,200 lm to about 7,700 lm* out of the front glass, all through one button.
8× royal blue LEDs (450–465 nm) at about 18 W give you a real fluo mode, not a token blue glow. 8× red LEDs (620–630 nm) let you approach shy critters without spooking them. Blue and red always run on their own, never mixed with white.
A constant-current boost driver keeps the light at the level you chose until the low-battery warning. No slow fade over the dive. Brightness is set by analog current control, not PWM, so your footage stays free of flicker, also in slow motion. At 3.3 V per cell the light warns you and steps down, at 3.0 V per cell it switches off to protect the cells.
No proprietary packs. The battery pack takes four standard unprotected flat-top 18650 Li-ion cells (tested: Samsung INR18650-35E). Swap them yourself at the dive site. The pack has its own BMS that cuts out on a short circuit. Filled with four cells it holds about 50 Wh, below the 100 Wh airline limit for hand luggage. Cells are not included.
The housing is machined from 6061 aluminium and hard anodized. The light head is sealed off from the battery pack. Rated to 150 m.
* Preliminary values, calculated for Samsung INR18650-35E cells at room temperature and losses through the front glass. They will be replaced by measured values from the prototype. Cold water and aged cells shorten burn time.

This is a pre-order, not stock. Every light is built to order in Germany, and payment up front is what buys the material. In return you get a serialized unit from a small, fully traceable production run.
